2 Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Bineng ZHONG is an Professor of the School of Computer Science and Technology at Huaqiao University in Xiamen, China. He is alao the Dean of Department of Computer Science and Technology. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2004, 2006, and 2010, respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he was a Research Fellow with the Institute of Automation and Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Science. He will go to Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, USA in Fall 2017. In Northeastern University, he will work with Prof. Yun (Raymond) Fu in the SMILE Lab as a visiting scholar. His research falls in the field of computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning. His recent interests include deep learning, correlation filters, object proposals, visual tracking, object detection, background modeling, motion analysis, intelligent video surveillance, image and video retrieval. He has published 80+ papers in representative journal and conferences like Pattern Recognition, Information Science, IEEE Trans. on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, ACM Trans. on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications, Neurocomputing, Signal Processing, PLOS One, CVPR, ECCV, ACCV, ICIP, and ICPR. He is also a reviewer for many impacted journals and NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China). In 2013, He was elected to the Outstanding Young Persons’ Research Program for Higher Education of Fujian Province, granted by the Education Department of Fujian Province in China. In 2016, He was elected to the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Fujian Province University, granted by the Education Department of Fujian Province in China.
